Seventy-five years ago, Americans celebrated the first Earth Day: an organized effort to confront environmental challenges and convince communities to take action for the planet. To the surprise of many, Earth Day didn't end on that sunny April 22, 1970. The success of the movement continues today, with critically important laws like The Clean Air Act, The Endangered Species Act, and The Water Quality Improvement Act taking root as Americans continue to campaign for a healthier environment.
Now, Earth Day is a global event that inspires millions of people to go green. Whether it's picking up litter, planting flowers, or just hanging at the local park, there are countless ways to serve the planet.
Read on for a list of Earth Day activities and crafts that will engage your whole family!

Think you got the recycling chops? Flex your knowledge with a Recycle Relay! Split into teams and see who can sort items into TRASH or RECYCLE the fastest. Be careful! Items placed in the wrong pile are forfeited points.

Spend time outdoors with a Nature Scavenger Hunt
